Welcome...
First off, thank you so much for reading and subscribing. I began this Substack in a panic, thinking through alternative ways that readers could stay in touch, and now that things have settled down a bit more, I’m ready to build it out with a bit more content.
While I can’t speak truth to power of large institutions via a newsletter with no legal team and editors to back me, I can use this space to share insights I’ve found, reporting tidbits, interviews and more. For my month-long investigations, I will be looking for another home for them.
I’ve been a journalist since I was 15, covering topics like video games, tech, Apple, China news, all business news, world news, for over a decade. My background is so bizarre. I’m a classically trained journalist who never went to J school, and learned everything on the job, working at places like CNN, The Washington Post and The Verge. Politics, business, art, science and gaming all equally excite me and I can’t wait to dive into more of this with you.
For the first issue of this Substack, I’ll be interviewing Rui Zhong, a program associate at the Wilson Center in Washington, D.C., and former KidsPost reader, and writing a bit about Chinese politics and Genshin Impact. You can expect that to land early next week.
